TradeIX, a Dublin-headquartered fintech company, is to create 70 jobs in the capital as part of a major expansion.

It said the new roles would be across engineering, sales, customer service and product development.

Founded in 2016, TradeIX has developed a platform powered by blockchain and distributed ledger technology for facilitating the movement of goods, assets and credit around the world.

The company has raised about $16 million (€14.1 million)in funding to date, with backers including ING Ventures and BNP Paribas.

A third of TradeIX's current employees are based in Dublin although it also has offices in London, Kettering and Singapore and operations in Germany and the US. The company's clients include ING, BNP Paribas, DHL, AIG and Oracle.

"We are building the world's first distributed trade finance platform powered by Corda blockchain technology, and the Irish operation plays a pivotal role in developing and scaling the company's solutions", said TradeIX founder and chief executive Robert Barnes.
