Boston firm CarGurus to create 100 jobs in Dublin

Car sales website was established by Langley Steinert,a former co-founder of TripAdvisor

Online car sales website CarGurus is to create 100 new jobs in Dublin over the next three years, the company said on Wednesday as it announced plans to establish its European headquarters in Dublin.

The facility will be the Boston-based company’s first branch operation outside the US. The office will look after inside sales, dealer account services and technical development teams that will be building country-specific operations in Europe.

CarGurus was established in 2006 by Langley Steinert,a former co-founder of TripAdvisor. It was named on Forbes Magazine’s most promising companies list in 2015.

The company said it is currently finalising an office location in Dublin and intends to be operational by June

CarGurus was introduced to Ireland through the ConnectIreland initiative, which is seeking to attract more investment to the country.

Under the ConnectIreland initiative, those who introduce new companies and help create sustainable jobs in the State are in line for a financial reward from the Government. Among those who have established operations here as a result of the scheme are digital business company 6D Global Technologies, financial software firm ProSeeder, analytics company Data Clarity and basalt fibre producer Mafic.
