Amid all the talk about share options in the Republic as a means to attract and retain key staff, the Margin was interested to see that Premier League clubs are having their own staff loyalty and retention problems.

Share options are now being suggested as a method of encouraging loyalty. The suggestion, by Liverpool manager, Mr Gerard Houllier, is part of a broader strategy to reform player wages. And you thought they were being paid enough already.
