The Irish Co-Operative Organisation Society (ICOS) stated yesterday that any revaluation of the pound's central rate would have a severe impact on the agri-food sector and "damage the exporting sector of the economy". Mr John Tyrrell, ICOS director general, said that the Government's decision to allow a 3 per cent revaluation of the pound against the deutschmark in March resulted in a £150 million loss.
