Ulster Bank to create 350 jobs at Belfast call centre

New employees will provide support for RBS, NatWest and Ulster Bank customers

Ulster Bank and its parent company Royal Bank of Scotland are to create 350 additional jobs at an Ulster Bank customer contact centre in Belfast.

Ellvena Graham, head of Ulster Bank Northern Ireland, said the new jobs will support the bank’s ambition to “become number one for customer service”.

The bank plans to invest £350,000 in additional office space to expand the existing centre which already employs 250 people who currently handle calls and live web chats for Ulster Bank customers in the North and the Republic.

The new employees will provide support for RBS, NatWest as well as Ulster Bank customers in the North and South.

Last year RBS announced plans to develop a business accelerator hub in Belfast – which is one of just eight planned for the UK in partnership with Entrepreneurial Spark.

Ms Graham said: “The decision by RBS to locate these jobs in the Belfast Contact Centre is a welcome recognition of the excellent standards that have been set by the Ulster Bank team in Danesfort.”
