HWBC’s armchair rugby pundits go down to wire on Six Nations

The Armchair Pundit rugby score prediction game being run by the property group HWBC has gone down to the wire.

More than 120 executives from the property investment and development world must guess the scores of Six Nations matches as part of the game. Tip the correct winner and you receive all the points scored by that team.

Eugene Dunne, the managing director of KMD Architecture, has a commanding lead heading into the final round of matches. Among those trying to catch him are Michael Lauhoff, the head of growth at Bank of Ireland's business unit, and Kevin Cullen, property partner at Eversheds solicitors.

, also has an outside chance and just about scrapes into the top 10. He’s certainly doing better than his Alanis colleague Alan McCormack, who languishes in 95th spot.

Pat Gunne, managing director of Blanchardstown shopping centre owner Green Property, won't be pleased with 64th position.

Nor will former Treasury Holdings boss John Bruder (117th) or former BDO managing partner Derry Gray (110th).

Englishman Jonathan Hillyer, the managing director of HWBC, says he has "sadly lost my children to the green shirts of Ireland" and he remains the only "white shirt" in his house.

“Despite making Ireland my home and having proudly achieved my GAA training accreditation, the final day of the Six Nations is a war zone in my house,” he said. “I hope one side of the house is celebrating come Saturday evening.”
