Credit Suisse appoints Sinéad Mahon to lead Dublin branch

Swiss financial institution Credit Suisse has appointed Irish woman Sinéad Mahon as country head for its Dublin branch. She has joined from Barclays Bank where she was chief operating officer at its unit in Ireland and a member of the local board.

Ms Mahon spent more than three years with Barclays, having previously worked for Danske Bank here for about six years.

Credit Suisse employs about 100 staff at its Dublin branch. She will join the bank's Europe, Middle East and Africa equities management team, as well as chairing the Dublin branch management committee. Her appointment has been approved by the Central Bank of Ireland.

According to a note circulated to staff on Tuesday, Ms Mahon will be “central to implementing and maintaining the branch’s revised governance process”, while also focusing on “strengthening our Irish franchise, monetising existing flows and focusing on new opportunities”.
