Minister to deliver keynote speech at Oil & Gas 2013 Summit in Dublin

Against the backdrop of increased international interest in the hydrocarbon potential of Ireland’s Atlantic margin, International Research Networks is to host the Oil & Gas 2013 Summit in Dublin this week.

The agenda for the two-day summit will cover exploratory advancements, investment opportunities, operational challenges and updates on the regulations covering exploration of onshore and offshore regions.

It will also address a variety of topics surrounding Ireland’s expanding oil and gas sector, including updates on critical projects currently underway, licensing and bidding rounds, downstream and refining opportunities.

Speakers will include Kinsale Energy chief executive Fergal Murphy, Lansdowne Oil and Gas CEO Stephen Boldy, Petrel Resources managing director David Horgan, Clannah Natural Energy director Susan Morrice and Hugh Mackay, chief executive of Europa Oil and Gas.

Senior level representatives from ConocoPhilips, Suncor Energy, Ministry of Petroleum and Energy of Norway, Kinsale Energy, San Leon Energy, Nexen and Tullow Oil will also be in attendance.

Shell to Sea campaign
The opening keynote speech, which aims to provide the audience with governmental insights on the Irish energy industry, will be given by Minister of State at the Department of Energy, Fergus O'Dowd.

Meanwhile, the Shell to Sea campaign is calling on people to attend the summit to say “no to unconventional oil and gas extraction in Ireland”.

On the subject of oil and gas, Irish exploration company Petroneft Resources is hosting its AGM in Dublin this Wednesday, while Petroceltic will be publishing interim results today.
