Institute takes possession of film school

A new €5.5 million National Film School funded by the Government and the film industry has been handed over to the Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology at Kill Avenue. The 1,302sq m (14,015sq ft) facility has up-to-date equipment for education in film and TV production and caters for 500 students on the institute's BA and masters degree programmes. The institute president, Dr Annie Doona, said the facility would be a training ground for the next generation of the film, radio and TV industry.
