AIB is to extend its Internet presence with the introduction of a shopping mall offering access to Irish shops and goods. It will provide Internet users with the facility to browse in the shops on the mall, then order and pay for the goods with their credit card.

It is aimed primarily at people with an interest in Ireland and is targeting the US, Europe and the Far East.

Shoppers will be able to pay for goods in their local currency at the time of completing the transaction and this is the amount which will appear on the card statement.
