Food and ingredients group Glanbia has appointed Henry Corbally as its new chairman in place of Liam Herlihy who is stepping down from the role after seven years.

Mr Corbally has also been appointed as chairman of Glanbia Co-operative Society and Glanbia Ingredients Ireland.

Formerly vice-chairman of the group, Mr Corbally is a dairy farmer from Kilmainhamwood in Kells, Co Meath, he was elected to the Glanbia board in 1999.

The group has appointed Patrick Murphy to replace Mr Corbally as vice-chairman, a role he shares jointly with Martin Keane.

Mr Murphy has also been appointed vice-chairman of Glanbia Co-operative Society.
