Kerry-based, family-run hotel group, the O’Donoghue Ring Collection, is thrilled to be one of only 34 businesses in the country to be recognised as one of the Best Workplaces for Women in 2025 by Great Place to Work Ireland.
Now in its seventh year, the Best Workplaces for Women is a programme that aims to recognise those top organisations which, in addition to providing a great work environment for everyone in general, are creating positive and supportive workplaces for women in particular. This year Great Place To Work recognised 34 organisations from a wide range of sectors and sizes, with more than 2,000 female leaders represented and just seven hospitality organisations making the list.
The recognition comes swiftly after the Collection – whose portfolio includes Killarney Plaza Hotel & Spa, Killarney Avenue Hotel, Killarney Towers Hotel & Leisure Centre, River Island Hotel, Café du Parc, The Tan Yard, O’Donoghue Public House and most recently Killarney’s first underground bar, Pig’s Lane – was named one of the country’s top 20 best large workplaces 2025. It also recently achieved its third consecutive annual certification as a Great Place to Work, based on the positive feedback and enthusiastic support of its dedicated team members.
The O’Donoghue Ring Collection’s commitment to fostering a workplace that values inclusivity and diversity is a cornerstone of the business’s culture; creating an environment where people from all walks of life feel welcome, valued and empowered to succeed. In 2022 the business launched its ODR Collection Culture Code based on three pillars of customer experience, employee experience and standards of excellence, to instil a sense of pride among employees. The Collection has always demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting women in the workplace which is evident at all levels, starting with the senior leadership team which is largely represented by women, including managing director, Gemma Ring and group HR manager, Orna O’Mahony.
Commenting on making it into this year’s prestigious Best Workplaces for Women list, Ring said: “As a business that always strives to put our employees central to everything that we do, hearing the news that we had made the Ireland’s Best Workplaces 2025 list and Best Workplaces for Women 2025 has been incredibly special.
“We are committed to empowering every member of our team with the support and opportunities they need to excel in their roles and thrive. Fostering a workplace of camaraderie and inclusivity is at the heart of who we are, and for this to be recognised on a national platform fills us with immense pride. While this recognition is an incredible milestone, we remain dedicated to continuous improvement, always striving to make our workplace even more rewarding and inspiring for our people.”
