For many decades, Irish people moving to London would usually go to a few particular areas in the city - such as Camden Town and Kilburn. These were locations where an Irish job-seeker would be sure to meet someone from home, and where shops and pubs had familiar names.
That era is now long gone, Irish accents can now be heard in all parts of the vast city - from Uxbridge in the west to Romford in the east. Shane Hickey recently talked to some Irish people living in London about why they like the district they live in.
We would like to know where you believe is the best area to live in London.
Where would you recommend an Irish person staying?
And why do you think makes it an ideal location - are there good transport options? Is it the night-life? Family-friendly parks? Or maybe there’s a GAA club or Irish community centre nearby.
Whatever you think, let us know in the form below. Some of the submissions will be published in the Abroad section in The Irish Times.
Thank you.
