Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5: Big push for improvement

New user interface makes it much easier to take full advantage of the flexibility

From €1,999

Samsung’s latest folding phone is less of a revolution and more of an evolution. It has the same screen size, for example, for both the inner and outer screens, and the same next generation Snapdragon chip as the S23 line. But Samsung has gone to some efforts to improve things. The new user interface makes it much easier to take full advantage of the flexibility of the Fold5 and its design, while the company has also shaved a bit of the bulk and weight off the device. That is largely down to the redesigned hinge, which is flatter than its predecessor, so it is less of a wedge and more natural looking. Samsung has high hopes for the new device, with preorders surpassing expectations - although its main competition remains its own devices - at least in Ireland, and for now.
