Tech Tools: Garmin Sq 2 watch tracks a rake of health data, comes with GPS and plays tunes

Garmin Sq 2 (from €270)

Garmin’s Sq watch is back, with an update. The Sq 2 and S2 Music 2 bring a large, bright Amoled screen that is touch-enabled, and impressive battery life that means you won’t have to keep reaching for the chargers. It tracks an impressive array of health data, from workouts and heart rate to sleep monitoring and stress. It will also keep track of your body’s energy levels through Body Battery, and give you a health snapshot when you need it. In smartwatch mode, you get up to 11 days in the official ratings, but additional features such as GPS and music will impact that.

Both versions allow you to control music playback, but the more expensive Sq 2 Music edition will store up to 500 songs on its internal storage, so you don’t need to take your phone. Add in contactless payments and your phone just became a little less involved in your life.
