BOXING: Danny Williams is intent on proving his knockout of Mike Tyson was no fluke when he challenges for the world heavyweight title on December 11th.

Williams' clash with WBC champion Vitali Klitschko has been confirmed for the Mandalay Bay resort in Las Vegas.

Williams insists he will not repeat the errors of previous world title claimants who have failed to build on single big-fight successes.

"I have learnt from the mistakes of people who have become champions then fallen by the wayside soon afterwards," Williams said. "As soon as my fight against Tyson was over, I was back in training.

"I am taking this fight very seriously and I do not care about the attention I am getting from beating Tyson - I want more. The only way I am going to get more is if I beat Vitali Klitschko and that is what I intend to do."

Williams heads out to Las Vegas next week to put the finishing touches to his preparations. And he believes champion Klitschko has made a big mistake by agreeing to the bout following the stunning win over Tyson which catapulted him onto the world stage.

"I give Vitali respect because he could have got an easier fight, but he picked me. I have had a long build-up, I have surpassed the fitness level I was at for the Tyson fight and I am getting stronger by the day.

"I believe I am fighting the best champion in the world and Vitali is also fighting the best challenger. My confidence speaks for itself. I am not going to allow any pressure to get to me and I am going to go in there and perform to my best."
