Wicklow 0-7 Wexford 0-5:The Wicklow bandwagon rolled on to another victory at Aughrim and a place in the semi-finals. Wicklow's lead of 0-5 to no score at half-time was precarious as they would then be facing a gale-force wind. However, while Wexford did square the match inside 13 minutes of the restart, Wicklow held them scoreless in the final quarter, while full forward Paul Earls and substitute Tony Hannon grabbed the winning points for the home side.

"After 12 minutes Wexford had drawn level and they looked as if they were going to win," said Mick O'Dwyer. "But, jaysus, our fellows got a resurrection, I don't know from where but they played like demons from there on."
