Dr McKenna Cup Section C/ Tyrone 0-11 Donegal 0-9: Tyrone yesterday continued their dominance over Donegal with a deserved victory at MacCumhaill Park, Ballybofey.
They turned a two-point half-time deficit into a one-point lead early in the second half, and, thereafter, never looked like being headed.
Stephen O'Neill was majestic at full forward, proving a real handful for new Donegal full back Neil McGee. And Seán Cavanagh was also a different player in the second period when moved to midfield.
It all looked good for Donegal in the opening half with young centre forward Ciarán Bonner hitting four points as Donegal lead by 0-5 to 0-1 three minutes before half-time. However, Tyrone struck with two O'Neill points and they were dominant in the third quarter.
Donegal finished well, but they needed a goal and Tyrone will now face Armagh in their bid to win the McKenna Cup for the third year in-a-row.
In the other Section C tie, Down hammered St Mary's 6-10 to 0-6 at Burren.
