RUSSIAN women's downhiller Tatiana Lebedeva and an FIS official suffered broken legs in a high-speed training crash at the Alpine skiing world championships at Siterra Nevada, Spain.
Lebedeva (22), smashed into Harald Schoenhaar as she hurtled over the Geronimo jump. Thinking training had been suspended, Schoenhaar and a colleague had been preparing the piste.
Italy's Isolde Kostner, winner of the super-giant slalom on Monday, had a run just before 30th starter Lebedeva and was clearly shaken.
"I am so lucky, it could have been me," she said.
