UEFA angered by delay

UEFA has reacted with anger after a crucial round of talks aimed at reforming the transfer system was abruptly postponed yesterday. The European Commission said it had rescheduled the meeting for December 13th after receiving a request for a delay from FIFA.

In a statement released on UEFA's website, chief executive Gerhard Aigner said UEFA wanted to record its "great surprise".

"UEFA and the professional leagues remain firmly committed to continuing their work on this matter in order to find a practical and satisfactory solution. We hope that all other interested parties will demonstrate a similar commitment to doing the necessary work to bring this case to a conclusion."
