The Aidan O'Brien-trained Theann looks to have an ideal opportunity to pick up a valuable Group Three winning bracket at Leopardstown this evening when she contests the Ballyogan Stakes.

Theann found the mile of the Newmarket Guineas last month much too far but returned to sprinting in some style in the Greenlands Stakes at the Curragh over the Guineas weekend when third to Benbaun.

The Ballydoyle runner had to race wide that day but crucially the draw has been kind to her this evening as Theann occupies the coveted stall one position.

There may be only nine runners for the €70,000 pot but around these turns an inside position is important and Seamus Heffernan should be able to save crucial ground the whole way round.

Unlike the Greenlands, this race is confined to fillies and mares and Theann also has three and a half lengths in hand of possibly her most dangerous rival, Leitra, from the Curragh.

Rain-softened ground isn't a problem as she won her maiden at Naas last autumn with cut in the going so despite the presence of cross-channel raider Folga, who looks a good handicapper but hardly up to this class, as well as the old rivals That's Hot and Absoutelyfabulous, it will be disappointing if Theann does not emerge best.

The ease in the going should be no problem either for Quinmaster who is taken to reverse previous course and distance form with Heliostatic in the Listed Glencairn Stakes.

There was half a length between the two on running behind Danak here in April and although Quinmaster was slightly disappointing subsequently, last year's Tote Galway Mile and Cambridgeshire winner looks worth another chance to pick up some winning black type.

Truly Mine gets the chance to finally win her first race in the opening nine-furlong maiden and Dermot Weld's filly, beaten less than five lengths by Finsceal Beo in the Irish Guineas, will be a tough opponent to beat.

An interesting rival, however, will be De La Grandera who belied 20 to 1 odds at the Curragh to run third to Timawara and Profound Beauty who in turn franked the form in some style at Naas on Monday. Both of those fillies are regarded as being potentially top class so Truly Mine could have to work to win against David Wachman's colt.

The former smart bumper performer Charyan is an interesting runner in the nine-furlong handicap considering she is rated 10lb lower than her only other previous start in a flat handicap.

Christy Roche's mare has never looked a natural over hurdles but for a Galway maiden winner she doesn't look badly treated on a mark of sixty.
