Presuming the Minister for Sport John O'Donoghue holds up his end of the bargain, a5 million in Government funding will be made available for GAA players.

Although it is available via expenses, and a €90 weekly ceiling, a player involved from January to September can receive over €3,400. Even a football county that gets knocked out in a first-round qualifier would be entitled to some return.

All-Ireland finalists:€3,240

January to mid-August (All-Ireland quarter-final):€2,880

January to mid-July (Exit first-round qualifier):€2,437
