Gasquet beats Wawrinka in thriller
French Open champion Stan Wawrinka is out of Wimbledon after he lost a five set thriller 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 4-6, 9-11 to Richard Gasquet, who will now go on to face Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals.
Roger Federer continued his serene progress in SW19, seeing off Gilles Simon 6-3, 7-5, 6-2 to set up a last four tie with Andy Murray who also only needed three sets to finish off his quarter-final, beating Vasek Pospisil 6-4, 7-5, 6-4.
Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova take their rivalry onto Centre Court today, with the Russian looking for her first win over the world number one since 2004.
No Rory at St Andrews
The British Open gets underway next week but the defending champion and world's best golfer, Rory McIlroy, won't be at St Andrews to try and retain the Claret Jug after the ankle injury he sustained last weekend proved severe enough to rule him out.

Trimble has World Cup in his sights

Wexford win U-21 title again
Wexford secured a third consecutive Leinster U-21 hurling title last night after they thrashed Kilkenny 4-17 to 1-9 at Wexford Park.
Retired Tipperary hurling hero Eoin Kelly was disappointed with the way Galway fell into Kilkenny's trap at Croke park last weekend, and has urged his former side to be true to their own style when they play Waterford in this weekend's Munster final.
