RACING: The Tuskar Rock Handicap at Wexford this evening draws back into competition Billy Bonnie and The Culdee who fought out a rousing tussle in the valuable Leinster Petroleum Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday with Billy Bonnie hanging on by a short-head as The Culdee ate into his advantage with every last stride.
Subsequently The Culdee reverted to flat racing at Clonmel last weekend and landed some hefty wagers as he easily saw off his rivals to score by three lengths.
He has a mandatory 5lb penalty here but still meets Billy Bonnie on 5lb better terms than he did over jumps and he looks a deserving nap selection.
In the other flat handicap the way seems clear for Mind Over Matter to score his first win since coming to Ireland.
Beyond The Pole should be a raging favourite in the Carnsore Point Maiden given the subsequent achievements of the colt and filly who he finished second to last season. Pugin who beat him at Navan went on to be fourth to Galileo in the Irish Derby while he only succumbed to Sahara Slew after a hectic duel at Leopardstown.
Amongst the jumpers to take note of is Cousin Joe in the hunter chase.
