Conditional jockey Leo Temple missed out on his first ride at Bangor-on-Dee yesterday - by 50 miles! The claimer was due to partner Dancing Lawyer for his boss Brian Ellison in the opening Eyton Selling Hurdle.
But he had to be replaced by fellow Irishman Brian Harding as he went to the wrong course - arriving at the town of Bangor on the North Wales coast.
"He's gone to the wrong Bangor!" admitted Ellison. "He set off from the yard this morning with a driver and he was told the way but he has gone to the other Bangor 50 miles away!
"It's annoying as I have just been fined £110 by the stewards.
Dancing Lawyer finished sixth behind Prussia under his replacement jockey.
