Portugal v Germany,Basle, tonight, 7.45. On TV:RTÉ Two, UTV. AFTER making eight changes for the final group game against Switzerland, Portugal manager Luiz Felipe Scolari is expected to revert to the line-up that started the game against Turkey and the Czech Republic, both of which were won by a couple of goals.
The Germans have a couple of significant injury worries, the scorer of all but one of their goals, Lukas Podolski, still suffering from the calf strain that troubled him in the second half against Austria and Torsten Frings struggling with a fractured rib sustained in the narrow win.
Frings will be given every chance to prove his fitness as will Podolski, who didn't train yesterday. If the latter makes it then he may well start up front alongside Miroslav Klose with Mario Gomez dropping to the bench and Bastian Schweinsteiger returning to the left flank.
