Making a trip to Sydney for the Games? Well remember to bring some extra cash

Making a trip to Sydney for the Games? Well remember to bring some extra cash. The latest Olympic price hikes revealed this week include a 10 per cent surcharge on Sydney taxi fares and similar fees for diners who fail to keep dinner reservations in Sydney restaurants.

The taxi surcharge will be on top of an existing 20 per cent surcharge for journeys between 10 p.m and 6 a.m.. Other workers to have secured Olympic bonuses include train and bus drivers, security guards, hotel workers, casino staff and telecommunications employees.

Some restaurants also plan to refuse bookings not confirmed with a credit card number, increase menu prices by up to 30 per cent and introduce a 10 per cent surcharge as well as a "compulsory gratuity".
