Joe Swail secured a famous Nations Cup victory for Northern Ireland over England yesterday. Swail beat John Parrott in the deciding frame in Newcastle.

England, beaten 8-3 by title favourites Scotland on Saturday, now have little chance of qualifying for Sunday's final.

After the victory Taylor, who celebrates his 50th birthday today said: "The lads were brilliant and I'm very proud of them."
