St Peter's, Wexford 0-10 Dundalk Colleges 1-15: A splendid first-half display by St Peter's College helped them to an eventual two-point victory over Dundalk Colleges in their Leinster Colleges second-round game at Athy yesterday.
With Aindreas Doyle kicking three first-half points, backed up by the free taking of Conor Quinn, St Peter's went in with an interval lead of 0-7 to 0-1.
Very little separated the sides in the third quarter but Dundalk Colleges' chances of victory evaporated in the 53 minute when Derek Crilly was red carded at a time when they trailed 0-8 to 1-3, Crilly having scored their goal minutes earlier. Quinn tagged on two late points to secure St Peter's victory.
