St Ledger pulls out of Ireland squad with injury

Paddy Madden and Andy Keogh added to squad for next week’s friendly against Wales in Cardiff

Sean St Ledger has been added to the Republic of Ireland injury list after picking up a knee injury in training with Leicester City. The defender has withdrawn from the Irish squad for the friendly international against Wales in Cardiff next week.

With St Ledger joining the likes of Aiden McGeady, Anthony Pilkington, Simon Cox and Stephen Quinn on the sidelines, Giovanni Trapattoni has drafted Yeovil's Paddy Madden and Millwall's Andy Keogh into his squad for the match in the Welsh capital.

St Ledger, a match-winner for Leicester in the English League Cup during the week with a late goal against Wycombe, sustained his injury as Leicester were preparing for their Championship clash with Leeds United tomorrow afternoon.
