During the past month Bohemians have impressively started to collect points and plaudits as they edge further away from relegation trouble.

This fine win over Derry City at Dalymount Park made it two wins and a draw from their past four matches which has eased the pressure around Phibsboro.

Initially Bohemians didn’t show many signs of a team carrying the burden of relegation worries as Davy Mulcahy’s midfield bite and guile ensured they were briskly on the front foot and the Gypsies cause was aided by a fifth minute penalty.

David McDaid's foul on Stephen Traynor ensured Ryan McEvoy was able to confidently sweep Bohemians ahead from the resultant spot-kick.

Keith Buckley's splendid cross the found McEvoy, who planted an equally crafty header beyond the despairing dive of Ger Doherty as Bohemians extended their advantage after 22 minutes.

Derry's Ryan McBride was red carded in the 68th minute.
