Bohemians 0 Red Bull Salzburg 1 (Salzburg win 2-1 on agg):Bohemians' Champions League adventure came to an end this evening after they were defeated 1-0 by Red Bull Salzburg at Dalymount Park to lose their Champions League second qualifying round second leg 2-1 on aggregate.

It was a cruel exit for Pat Fenlon’s men as the visitors weighed in with a late 88th minute goal that decided the tie in their favour to set up a third round clash against Dinamo Zagreb.

Bohemians gave a great account of themselves and matched their opponents in virtually every department. However, in the dying minutes substitute Patrick Jezek capitalised on a poorly-headed back pass from Mark Rossiter to head the winner past goalkeeper Brian Murphy.

Bohs went into tonight’s game with genuine hope as a battling 1-1 draw, and crucial away goal, in Austria last week put the League of Ireland champions in the driving seat.

Despite Fenlon’s side dominating for large periods they appeared to tire towards the end which ultimately cost them.

Elsewhere Maccabi Haifa completed their two-legged mauling of Irish League champions Glentoran in their qualifying clash, winning through 10-0 on aggregate.

Following their 6-0 thrashing in Israel last week the hosts had only pride to play for in the second leg but Yero Bello put the visitors further ahead inside 10 minutes.

It was to Alan McDonald's men's credit that they held firm for the rest of the first half but Maccabi's superiority was evident as they dominated the second period at The Oval in Belfast.

Bello made it a brace eight minutes after the interval before Peter Masilela (62) and substitute Shlomi Arbeitman (90) completed the rout.
