The Republic of Ireland's next Euro 2008 qualifier will be held in Bratislava, the Slovak Football Federation (SFF) confirmed this afternoon. The kick-off has yet to be announced.

The next match for Steve Staunton's side, on September 8th, will be hosted in the 25,000 capacity Slovan Stadion in the Slovak capital. Irish fans hoping to travel for the match face a scramble for tickets with the FAI receiving just 2,500 from the SFF.

Staunton's side travel to Slovakia with renewed hope of qualifying for the finals following their upturn in fortunes but defeat there - just three days before group leaders Germany arrive at Croke Park - would seriously dent those ambitions.
