U21 European Championship Qualifier - Rep of Ireland 0 Turkey 3:Ireland were short on luck and a cutting edge at Turner's Cross when succumbing to two first half goals from a Turkish side that ran out 3-0 winners despite having less of the ball overall.

Manager Don Givens would have hoped for better in the opening game of the European Championship qualifying campaign, especially after victory over Spain at the weekend, but his side failed to convert a string of decent chances.

Galatasaray forward Deniz Yilmaz and defender Emre Ozkan ensured the highly rated Turkish were in control after half an hour and Omer Sismanoglu’s injury time effort added insult to injury.
