Soccer:The FAI said they are not in a position to offer financial assistance to Cork City, who are on the verge of folding.
After yesterdays court ruling Cork have until Friday to lodge an appeal after the High Court ordered all outstanding tax bills to be paid by the end of the week.
“We've to deal with 22 clubs in the league, and we've to deal with them all equally and that's what we do,” said Fran Gavin, League of Ireland Director.
“It's up to Cork to keep their commitments to the Revenue - everybody has to do it, and Cork are no different to anybody else, and in that sense in the FAI we don't go down that road at all.”
