Soccer:The FAI has confirmed the Republic of Ireland will play Hungary in Budapest on June 4th, six days before they open their Euro 2012 campaign against Croatia in Poznan.
The game will be one of three international friendlies organised as preparation for the tournament in Poland and Ukraine.
Ireland face the Czech Republic at the Aviva Stadium on February 29th and will also play Bosnia and Herzegovina in Dublin on May 26th.
After that game, they will travel to a six-day training camp in Montecatini, Italy, before the game in Budapest. Giovanni Trapattoni’s and his squad will then arrive at their base in Gydnia, Poland, on June 5th.
Of the three opponents, only the Czech Republic will take part in Euro 2012. They share Group A with co-hosts Poland, Russia and 2004 champions Greece.
Ireland will face Spain in Gdansk on June 14th before the group stages end with a match against Italy back in Poznan on the 18th.
Trapattoni will name the squad for the Czech game this Friday morning.
