Dutch police have arrested four English soccer fans for drunk and disorderly behaviour ahead of tonight's friendly with the Netherlands at the Amsterdam Arena.

"On Tuesday night there were large numbers of rowdy England supporters in the red light district . . . but there were only minor incidents and things stayed quiet," Amsterdam police said.

Police dispersed a noisy group of around 150 fans in the centre of the city before arresting four supporters for drunkenness, vandalism and urinating in the street.

Up to 10,000 England supporters are expected in Amsterdam and English police have travelled to the Netherlands to monitor fan behaviour.
