Cobh Ramblers 0-4 Drogheda United: Drogheda United displayed championship form when they climbed to fourth in the table with a convincing 4-0 win over Cobh Ramblers at St Colman's Park last night.
Paul Doolin's men set their stall out early with Ollie Cahill putting the visitors ahead in the fourth minute.
The second came from a well worked move between Eamon Zayed as he put Iyame Thiam through for the easiest of goals on 23 minutes.
In the second half Zayed got in on the scoring act himself when he scored twice in quick succession to put the game beyond Ramblers' reach.
Zayed's first, Drogheda's third, came in the 51st minute when he beat the offside trap before finding the net. Six minutes later he added another when Sami Ristila played him through before shooting past James McCarthy for a second time.
Cobh's disappointing night was compounded when centre back Kevin murray was sent-off for protesting.
The reigning champions remain 11 points behind league leaders Bohemians, who beat Sligo Rovers 3-0 on Friday night.
Elsewhere Athlone Town and Monaghan United played out a nil, nil draw in the only First Division fixture.
