Drogehda United will be without their captain Declan O'Brien for Thursday's Uefa Cup second round clash with IK Start.

The club last night failed in an appeal to have him added to the squad after he missed the first leg 1-0 defeat through injury.

Uefa rules state that a player cannot not be added to the pre-match squad list for a second round tie unless he has played in the first leg.

The FAI had supported the club in their appeal.
