Bohemians 2-0 Bray Wanderers: Bohemians moved a step closer to the Eircom League Premier Division title with a comfortable 2-1 win over Bray Wanderers at Dalymount Park tonight.
Pat Fenlon's men will have to wait another week for an opportunity to secure the league as their nearest rivals St Patrick's Athletic also won away to Finn Harps to keep the contest alive, if only mathematically.
Bohs have won their last 11 matches, are unbeaten in the last 16, and find themselves a massive 19 points clear of St Pat's with 73 points from 28 games.
The Dublin club last won the league in 2003 and Fenlon is going for his fourth league title in six years as a manager.
Glen Crowe opened the scoring for the Gypsies after Bray captain Ray Kenny made a howling mistake at the back. In trying to back header a high ball to his goalkeeper, the big midfielder completely misjudged and Glen Crowe didn't need to be invited twice.
The Bohs forward sneaked in behind the defence and coolly slotted the ball across the keeper and into the far corner of the net after 18 minutes.
Jason McGuinness leaped to head home Bohemians second two minutes into injury time at the end of the first half.
In the second period the champions elect started brightly once more but a lapse of concentration allowed Kenny to redeem himself after his first mistake as he pulled one back for Bray on the hour mark.
Elsewhere Mark Quigley scored St Pat's winner after 50 minutes in Ballybofey to make sure Bohemians keep the champagne on ice for another week.
