Carlo Ancelotti has again stressed that Manchester City target John Terry will be Chelsea's captain for many years. City have failed with two offers for the defender but have yet to end their interest in prising Terry away from their Premier League rivals.
Chelsea have repeatedly insisted that Terry is not for sale, although the England skipper has yet to comment on his future.
Ancelotti revealed earlier this week that he expected the matter to be resolved in the coming days as the Blues look to fend off interest from City.
And, speaking ahead of Friday's friendly with his former club AC Milan, Ancelotti reiterated that Terry would not be leaving Stamford Bridge.
"John Terry, I repeat, is the captain of this team and he will be the symbol of this club and this team for many years," said Ancelotti.
"It's not been a problem in these last few days. He will be the captain of Chelsea in the future."
Meanwhile, Ancelotti is refusing to rule out a raid on his old club Milan to sign midfielder Andrea Pirlo, who is likely to line up against Chelsea on Friday night.
He added: "Pirlo, I think will be with Milan (on Friday), but no one knows for the future."
