Millwall appears to be the next stop in Aaron Connolly’s journey through the EFL Championship as Sunderland consider a mutual termination of the Irish striker’s contract at the Stadium of Light.

Millwall would be the 24-year-old’s fifth club since Brighton loaned him to Middlesbrough in 2022.

After being released by Hull City last season, Connolly has made just three starts for the Black Cats under manager Régis Le Bris.
