Despite there being three of last year's All-Ireland semi-finalists on display, the GAA appear to be struggling to sell out the 53,000 capacity Semple Stadium for Saturday's All-Ireland hurling quarter-final double bill.
Kilkenny play Galway and Cork face Limerick in Thurles but while all four counties were allocated 11,000 tickets, the Saturday fixture and lack of interest, particularly in Limerick, has slowed the process.
Demand in Cork remains high, however, and the All-Ireland champions' county board would be keen to avail of any returns from the other three county boards.
"We received around 10,000 tickets and public sale takes place on Wednesday (today) from 7pm to 9pm at Páirc Uí Rinn," said the county's PRO Bob Ryan.
"For the Munster final we sold over 5,000 tickets to the public but we will probably not receive that many again.
"We may seek more if the other counties return some of their allocations but Saturday games tend not to attract as many supporters," added Ryan.
Kilkenny County Board secretary Pat Dunphy reported sales within the county as being "brisk, and we are confident of satisfying all the demand".
His counterpart in Galway, Bernie O'Connor, reiterated these sentiments and confirmed that tickets were already on sale last night at four centres across the county, including Pearse Stadium and Athenry GAA club.
