National League: Shamrock Rovers manager Pat Scully is said to be awaiting legal advice on how best to react to the Eircom League's decision to fine him €5,000, €3,000 of which was suspended, for comments made on TV3 at the start of August.
Initially asked about the match in which Jason McGuinness played for Bohemians while suspended, Scully agreed with the interviewer that the league was in some "disarray" at the time. He went on to endorse the merger with the FAI as a way to improve the administration of the league.
An appeal is likely.
The FAI have confirmed the independent assessment group (IAG) charged with making recommendations regarding the membership of next season's league has met all 21 clubs.
The clubs now have until October 31st to submit any additional information relevant to their applications. The IAG's final recommendations are due at the start of December.
