USA - 23 Scotland - 65: A week after an embarrassing loss to Canada, Scottish morale was lifted by a convincing win over the USA in San Francisco on Saturday.

The Scots ran in 10 tries despite playing the second half with 14 men after Nathan Hines was sent off for punching Dan Anderson.

Mose Timoteo crossed for the USA after three minutes, but Brendan Laney replied with a converted try and kicked a short penalty to give Scotland the lead. Wing Rory Kerr scored an unconverted try on 20 minutes to put the Scots 15-7 ahead.

Link Wilfley kicked a penalty for the USA before Hines and Duncan Hodges ran in converted tries before Hines was sent off.

Wilfley's injury-time penalty made the half-time score 13-29.

Chris Paterson scored the first try of the second period, followed by another Wilfley penalty and a try by Andrew Henderson to make it 41-16. Scotland then reeled off five unanswered tries.
