Promising young jockey Seamus Durack made his debut at Musselburgh yesterday and exhibited his skills when teaming with permit holder Dawn Goodfellow to scoop a double with Stan's Your Man and Tough Test.

Durack, 22, from Tipperary, has been showered with praise for his efforts this season and he was seen to especially good effect on Tough Test. In a driving finish he showed plenty of strength and determination to get the better of the favourite Blue Charm by half a length.

Durack had originally been booked to ride Tough Test at the abandoned meeting at Kelso last week.

"The trainer said I could have ride the again and she booked me for two of her other horses today as well," said Durack who was taking his tally to 19 for the season.

"Tough Test didn't jump too well early on but he responded really well when I asked him and is very game."

Durack had a somewhat easier task on Stan's Your Man, who made most of the running in the handicap hurdle and pulled clear after the last.

Trainer Philip Hobbs and Galway jockey Glenn Tormey took the honours at Taunton yesterday when notching a sparkling 411 1/2 to 1 treble courtesy of wins from Saxon Duke, Clongour and Pride Of Kashmir.

Clongour landed a big gamble for owner Liam Mulryan when staying on well to collect the Hangover Selling Handicap Hurdle after being supported from 14 to 1 to 9 to 2.

"Liam lives in Galway and he has had a good few quid on the horse today," said Hobbs attempting to underplay the plunge in the ring.

"This is only the horse's second run for me but he won with blinkers on for Ferdy Murphy last season and he did the job in them again there," added the Somerset trainer.

Tormey delivered Clongour with a well-timed effort to hit the front at the second-last flight before going away from Tellaporky to record a four length win.

Irish conditional jockey Shane Kelly was seen to good effect for his boss, Venetia Williams, when steering home Effectual by seven lengths in the Holly Tree Novices' Hurdle.
