Thurles Sarsfields 2-17 Upperchurch-Drombane 0-10:Ritchie Ruth bagged two goals as Thurles Sarsfields coasted to the final with a runaway win over Upperchurch-Drombane at Semple Stadium yesterday.
The sides were level twice in the early stages but Sarsfields, who won the county title in 2005, led by six points at half-time and were never troubled in the second half.
Ruth’s first goal in the 18th minute helped Sarsfields to a 1-7 to 0-4 interval lead.
Pa Bourke, who scored nine points, was Sarsfields’ top performer.
They continued to dominate in the second half, setting the seal on their win with Ruth’s second goal in injury time.
Both teams finished the game with 14 men when Sars centre-back Liam Cahill was dismissed for a second bookable offence with five minutes remaining before Colm Ryan received a straight red for a 57th-minute clash with Bourke.
