Bourgoin 24-17 Ulster: Ulster were unable to hold onto a lead they held for most of the match and in the end they narrowly missed out on a chance to win their first ever Heineken Cup match on French soil this evening.

In the absence of Mark McCall, who resigned as head coach three days ago, the province showed great spirit to take a 17-9 lead against Bourgoin into the break.

But Ulster failed to hang on and although they gained a losing bonus point they are bottom of Pool 2.
