Crescent into Munster Senior final

Castletroy also over come Ard Scoil Ris to reach Junior decider

Cork 6
Crescent CC 7

A converted try in the 13th minute of injury-time helped Crescent College Comprehensive reach the Munster Schools' Senior Cup final against the holders Rockwell College in Limerick on Monday. Wing Greg O'Shea eluded a number of tackles on a spectacular run down the right touch line to claim the game's only try in the final act of a marathon semi-final replay at Musgrave Park yesterday.

Outhalf and captain Gearoid Lyons held his nerve to kick the winning conversion against the strong wind and leave Christians distraught.

Crescent couldn't take advantage of the elements in the first-half and a couple of Tomas Quinlan penalties on the resumption shoved the Cork school 6-0 in front and looking winners until the dramatic climax.

Castletroy College 7
Ard Scoil Rís 3

Castletroy took one of the few opportunities to come their way to score a try to earn a place in the Munster Schools’ junior cup final by beating Ard Scoil Rís at Dooradoyle.
