Their absence from the field in the World Cup has not deterred Declan Kidney from throwing wing Brian Carney and flanker Alan Quinlan back into the fray for Munster's Magner's League game against the Ospreys on Sunday.

Neither player featured for Ireland in the forgettable campaign in France but an injury to Anthony Horgan sees Carney return for a fixture in which he was a try-scorer last season, while Quinlan replaces James Coughlan on the  blindside in the only change up front.

Carney's inclusion means that Ian Dowling moves to the left wing.

Peter Stringer, who fell out of favour with Ireland coach Eddie O'Sullivan in France, is named among the replacements instead of Gerry Hurley.  Tomas O'Leary starts at scrumhalf.

Munster: S Payne; B Carney, K Lewis, R Tipoki, I Dowling; P Warwick, T O'Leary; F Pucciariello, D Fogarty, T Buckley, M Melbourne, M O'Driscoll; A Quinlan, N Ronan, A Foley capt. Replacements: F Sheahan, Darragh Hurley, J Coughlan, P Stringer, J Manning, L Mafi.
